Please Tell us about the dog that needs adopted
Mumbly
Hello All! Please cross-post for this baby. To any rescues out there, we are also a non-profit rescue, but because of our city ordinances, we CANNOT adopt pit bull breeds, so we have to take them in hoping we can send them to a rescue that CAN adopt them out into loving forever homes.
May is a little female that was hit by a car. She is mending in a foster home but will need to go someplace that can adopt her out.. She is ADORABLE! I have attached her photo and story. She appears to be a special needs girl - deaf. Anyone out there who would take this little girl and find her a loving home???
As always - THANK YOU for your help in placing this sweetheart!!!!!
May's story:
We often depend on labels to inform us of the ingredients in a food product before ingesting it. And, labels are helpful when cleaning a garment that may require special attention. Imagine if we were required to walk around with a label listing information about ourselves ... mine might inaccurately state my dislike for dogs and yours may truthfully declare your love for kittens! With truthful information provided, labels can be helpful; however, labels can be hurtful when stating misinformation. May is at risk of being labeled. Her terrier heritage could limit her chances for a “forever home.” Her lack of hearing could imply she is “handicapped.” And, her broken leg may be viewed as “less than perfect.” Having seen little May hit by a car, a panicked Good Samaritan immediately brought her into One of A Kind Pets.. Covered in road rash, experiencing pain, and unable to use her front arm, this sweet puppy wagged her tail when approached to be evaluated for her injuries. After assessment of her condition, it was apparent that she would require medical intervention. Secondly, it was determined that May is deaf and, no-doubt, could not hear the approaching car. Now on the mend, this beautiful little girl awaits a home that will offer her love, compassion, and protection for the rest of her days. Just as we refrain from labeling each other, let’s not label little May. Note: deaf dogs can be taught sign language. SPECIAL NOTE: MAY IS NOT YET SPAYED; HOWEVER, SHOULD WE FIND THE APPROPRIATE HOME, WE WILL EXPEDITE THE SURGERY TO GET HER INTO HER NEW HOME WITHIN A FEW DAYS.

I work for One of a Kind Pets (the spay/neuter clinic) in Akron,Ohio.Because we are in the City of Akron, we basically have to turn our backs on these breeds. In the last 3 months, I have taken in 3 "pitbulls" with no place for them to go. I located a lady in Missouri who offered to help - Kitty Bunch Pitbull Refuge. We vetted and altered all the animals and sent them on their way.. One went via a truck driver (husband of an employee here) and was adopted BEFORE making it to Missouri to a gentleman in Minnesota who rescues pits. The other two went on paid transport; one was adopted out before he made it there. The other was a puppy who then went to a puppy rescue.

We have another BEAUTIFUL female "mix" in photo - She looks SO sad; I feel so terrible for her. I've asked this lady in Missouri if she can help but no response. As far as I know, no one has inquired about her, and she REALLY is a sweetheart! it breaks my heart.
Please help find her a good loving home!!!!

As for Mumbly, her new name is Violet. FIDO's Companions took her in exchange for our rescue taking one of their pound pups. She was delivered on Saturday, has already been swimming in a pond, had a bath, and will hopefully be placed in a foster home in the next week. Thank you for posting her, but I think she will be adopted from the other rescue soon. The woman who took her keeps commenting on how sweet she is . . .

We have YET ANOTHER male pit that someone picked up. We're neutering/vetting him today and working to get him to a rescue. He is heartworm positive. The dilemma here is that a rescue group will probably NOT treat him. On the other hand, if we can treat him here, I think it takes a month or so, but we have no place to keep him during his treatments. Near Akron,Ohio
Do you have any ideas?
